Opportunities for Adults

Hope Church as many types of ministries. There is always room for you to serve in the area of your choice! This is a wonderful way to use your gifts as you get to know others.

Service

Open Door is a cooperative ministry. Volunteers from Hope Church arrive at 5:30 on the second Tuesday of each month at First United Methodist Church. They set up and then serve dinner in a buffet line. They help clear tables until 7:00. They also are happy to receive dessert donations.

Habitat for Humanity has had a local group since 1988. The 17th home was built in 2007. Volunteers and contractors work together to provide homes for families who might not otherwise be able to afford them. You can be a part of this valuable service organization.

Countryside Nursing Facility welcomes you to help on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 4:00 pm. Join in singing hymns and visiting with the residents. Contact Pastor Curry if you're interested in participating in the worship experience.

Wednesday Night Dinners are a great time to enjoy children, youth, and their families. you can join a group that prepares and serves simple meals once a month.

 
Fellowship

Onward Fellowship gathers once a month for a luncheon, a time of fellowship, guest speakers and presentations. Occasionally, this group of "seasoned" citizens travels to local points of interest.

Women's Euchre Group meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30pm. They share a potluck meal, cards, and laughter.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a time for moms and children ages infant - 5 years old to socialize and be encouraged. MOPS meets the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month at 9:30apm from September - May at First Baptist Church. Child care is available.

PAL (Play and Lean) groups are led by a facilitator who plans easy-to-do activities for children up to age 4. Families can meet others from the community, relax together while playing, and ask questions. PAL Meets in the nursery on Thursdays at 9:30am. Contact the Early On office at 616.674.8091.

 
Learning

Mom's Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30. They learn and grow in their faith through Biblical study. Childcare is available.

Women's Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 10:00 in the lounge. They share and grow together through God's word.

Men's Prayer Breakfast meets Thursday mornings at 7:00 in the Fellowship Hall. They have devotions, conversation, prayer, and of course donuts.

Network is a course designed to help you discover your spiritual gifts, your God-given passions, and your personal style. Offered as a 6 week course.

Exploring Hope Church answers questions you may have about Hope Church and provides opportunities for people to become members. Offered twice a year. Contact Pastor Curry

Adult Sunday School is offered following the morning worship service at 11:15. Participants learn more about God's Word and how it applies to their lives.
